The best thing to use is Potassium Chlorate and Potassium Nitrate, but because I have not found anywhere that sells this, I tend to use Sodium Chlorate instead, but sodium Nitrate would just about do.
Want you need is
Sodium Chlorate (75g)
Sulfur (10g)
Charcoal (15g)
If you don't want to do it that well, you could use, what I do, which is
15 parts Sodium Chlorate
2 parts Sulfur
3 parts Charcoal
You mix the Sulfur and Charcoal up in the same bole and then add the Chlorate later, This lowers the risk of it self igniting. After you add the Chlorate DO NOT mix in well until you add some distilled water, add the water until you think that it is all wet.. This makes sure that the chemise mix together well and also makes sure that they do not self ignite. Then take the gunpowder and flatted it out on some tinfoil. Do not use paper for it doesn't work as well.
Take this and put it out in direct sunlight for a day so that the water will evaporate.
Then carefully crush it up in to a fine power, this is then ready to use.
Store in a dry plastic contaner out of direct sunlight until use.
